June 15th 2013 was a gorgeous one, especially in Massachusetts. It was a day that will be celebrated for years to come by Megan and Mick LaCure who became husband and wife that afternoon at the lovely Ipswich Country Club.
My assistant David Van Buren and I first headed to the nearby Comfort Inn in Danvers to photograph Mike and his groomsmen while they got ready. A theme throughout the wedding party was teal, and the guys not only wore ties of that color, but also argyle socks that were a blend of that as well as gray and white.
We then headed to the Golf Club, a unique setting hailed as a “sanctuary for golf lovers” and a beautiful place to host a wedding. We met Megan and her bridesmaids at the club’s bridal suite. Hair and makeup we expertly provided by I Do. The teal dresses of the girls were the perfect complement to the first official day of summer, less than a week away, but of course they still could not outshine the beauty of the bride in her exquisite strapless gown.
This traditional couple waited to see each other until their ceremony, which was outside overlooking the golf course. After capturing those special moments, we moved on to several post-wedding portraits around the expansive course. We even captured some really sweet and amusing shots of the groomsmen pretending to be golf experts who were teaching Megan how to play the game.
A pro from On Cue DJ’s spun an upbeat mix of tunes at the reception that kept the guest dancing and excitement flowing throughout the evening. We had a great time with this fun couple and I wish them all the best in the years to come! (written by Charlotte Snowden McGregor)
