Friday the 13th might mean bad luck to a lot of people but for Amber and Phil it was the exact opposite. It was in Connecticut on Friday the 13th, September 2013 that this lovely couple decided to make it official and become Mr. and Mrs. Ciccone!
I first met Amber and Phil through another wedding client of mine, Avery (thank you Avery)! My assistant John St. Ledger and I began the day at Amber’s parents’ home in Westbrook, where the bride and her ladies, all proudly wearing pink tank tops reading “bridesmaid”, got ready. After capturing many special and fun photos there we then drove to the ceremony site, Old John’s Parish in Old Saybrook to take some great shots of Phil and his groomsman.
Donned in a gorgeous strapless gown with a ribbon sash, Amber glided down the aisle on the arm of her father. The traditional ceremony was not met without a few laughs, especially when Phil jumped the gun and mistakenly kissed his beaming bride before the intended moment.
John and I took several family shots outside the church and then headed to the reception venue, “Woodwinds” in Branford to take indoor wedding party portraits. Rainy sky’s cleared just in time to allow a golden sunset to set the background of Amber and Phil’s couple photos, so I decided to take some more wedding party portraits outside as well. This lucky Friday the 13th even ended with a magnificent rainbow!
A lively reception included tons of dancing by all, and a contented John and I soon slipped away. Congratulations Amber and Phil!
