Providence is the proud capital of the tiny state of RI, and one of the oldest cities in the United States. It is a picturesque place with many great landmarks, grand hotels, and tasty restaurants. On a cloudy but relatively warm day in April, the 26th, Fredy and Kristin chose this historic city to say “I do”.
The day began with before pictures at the couples reception site, the acclaimed Biltmore Hotel, proudly standing in the downtown area since 1922. I had the pleasure of photographing the beautiful Kristin and her bridesmaids in the top floor bridal suite, boasting expansive city views. Meanwhile, my assistant Sam Henry, took on the task of capturing the groom and his crew of guys.
Off to Federal Hill we went to snap the ceremony at another historic site, that of the Holy Ghost Catholic Church, boasting lofty stained glass windows and other beautiful religious imagery. Once dad led Kristin to her future husband and vows sealed the deal, it was off to the momentous State House for more pictures on the cascading steps.
Back at the Biltmore, the couple’s band, Victor Events, ushered in the first dance with John Legend’s “All of Me.” It was magical, especially considering the “Beauty and the Beast” feel of the impressive ballroom. The evening continued with a series of unexpected subsequent events that amazed and amused the guests…the first being when Kristin and Fredy’s uncles dressed up like hip hop artists and performed for the crowd. Next some drag queens crashed the party and posed with the bride for some comical shots. And to top it all off, their band got Kristin to play the drums and Freddy to play DJ!
One cake cutting later of a glorious creation from Sin Desserts, the newly minted Mr. and Mrs. stepped outside to take a few more photos in front of the iconic Biltmore sign. Not long after that, the amazing day came to an end, but was just the beginning of memorable times to be had by the fun loving couple!
