I couldn’t have been more excited to shoot Aimee and Gerry’s wedding in Marbella, Spain. This was my first overseas wedding project. I met Aimee and Gerry through my friend John, the bride’s brother. The entire family and guests are all from Ireland including my 2nd photographer, Dave Van Buren.
Marbella is a city and municipality in southern Spain and is said to have 300 days of summer. I was there for a week and did not see a cloud the entire time that I was there!
Aimee and Gerry’s wedding day was nothing short of magical. The entire day was filled with laughter, sunshine, dancing, food, and music. They were married at The Iglesia de la EncarnaciĆ³n (Church of the Incarnation), an impressive building dating to the 16th and 17th centuries. The newlyweds and their bridal party traversed the beautiful old alleyways winding through the old town of Marbella for their striking wedding portraits.
We then headed to their reception venue at the Finca Villa Palma which is situated a lofty 400 meters above the sea, on the borders of the Sierra Blanca Mountains overlooking the Mediterranean Sea.
Thank you Aimee and Gerry for an experience of a lifetime!
